1. Introduction

UK Calculator (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://ukcalculator.com (the “Service”). We are registered in England and Wales under company number , with our registered address at Adiyaman, Turkey.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use that information, and your rights in relation to it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any personal data we obtain with care, transparency and respect for your rights.

This policy applies to all information collected through our website and any related services, communications or content. It was last reviewed and updated on 24 February 2026.

We act as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this website. Our processing is carried out in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

By using our website, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our website.

2. Data We Collect

UK Calculator provides free online calculators. We do not require users to create an account, register, or provide any personal information to use any of our calculators. No personal data is submitted through our calculator tools — all calculations happen locally in your browser.

We do, however, collect certain usage data automatically when you visit our website, including:

  • IP address (anonymised before storage — see Google Analytics section below)
  • Browser type and version (e.g. Chrome 120, Safari 17)
  • Operating system (e.g. Windows 11, macOS, Android)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring website (the site that directed you to us)
  • Date and time of your visit
  • General geographic location (country/region level, derived from anonymised IP)

This data is collected via Google Analytics (described below) and is used solely to understand how our website is used so we can improve it. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

No sensitive data collected. We do not collect names, email addresses, financial details, health data, or any other personally identifying information through our calculators or any other part of our website (other than if you voluntarily contact us via email).

If you contact us by email at contact@ukcalculator.com or privacy@ukcalculator.com, we will receive and store your email address and any personal information you choose to include in your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.

The legal basis for processing usage data is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — specifically, our interest in understanding how our website is used in order to improve it. Where you have given consent via our cookie banner, the legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR).

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyse information about the use of our website and to report on website activities and internet usage.

We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 on our website. This means:

  • Analytics tracking is disabled by default when you first visit our website
  • Full analytics data collection only begins if you accept analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner
  • If you decline or do not interact with the consent banner, Google operates in a limited (cookieless) modelling mode

When Google Analytics is active, it may collect the following information:

  • Pages visited and navigation paths through the site
  • Time spent on pages and overall sessions
  • Events such as button clicks and calculator interactions
  • Device type, browser and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country/city level)

We have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics. Your IP address is truncated before any geographic analysis, and the full IP address is never stored by Google on our behalf.

We have set the data retention period in Google Analytics to 14 months. Google Analytics data is processed by Google on servers which may be located outside the UK. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site, please visit: policies.google.com/privacy. To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

4. Advertising

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive ("Raptive") is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive's data usage, click here: https://raptive.com/creator-advertising-privacy-statement/

UK Calculator is a free service, funded entirely by advertising revenue. We currently display advertisements via Google AdSense, operated by Google LLC. Without this advertising income, we would be unable to provide our calculators free of charge to all users.

Our advertising supply partners are listed in our ads.txt file. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and (with your consent) serve interest-based advertisements. A full list of participating vendors is available via the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) vendor list at iabeurope.eu.

Google AdSense uses cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve advertisements to you. The key cookies used are the IDE cookie (set by Google's DoubleClick service, lasting 13 months) and the NID cookie (6 months) — both are detailed in the Cookies section below.

The lawful basis for processing your data in connection with personalised advertising is consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). We will only serve you personalised (interest-based) advertisements if you have explicitly accepted advertising cookies via our cookie consent banner.

We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 on our website. This governs how Google's advertising technologies behave based on your consent choices:

  • If you accept advertising cookies: Google may personalise the ads you see based on your interests, browsing history, and activity across websites that use Google advertising services.
  • If you decline or ignore the consent banner: You will still see advertisements, but they will be non-personalised (contextual only) — based on the page content rather than your personal profile. No advertising cookies will be set, and Google operates in a limited, cookieless mode.

Our Google AdSense publisher ID is ca-pub-2828507912890700.

Data Google may collect for advertising purposes includes:

  • Browsing behaviour across websites that use Google advertising services
  • Device identifiers and browser information
  • Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
  • Interests inferred from your browsing history (for personalised ads only, with consent)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, conversions)

International data transfers: Google LLC is based in the United States. Data processed by Google in connection with advertising may be transferred outside the UK. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and implements Standard Contractual Clauses as an appropriate safeguard for such transfers.

Your advertising controls: You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at any time by visiting adssettings.google.com. UK users can also opt out of interest-based advertising from IAB-member companies via the Your Online Choices tool (youronlinechoices.com). Alternatively, you can install the Google Ads Settings opt-out.

We do not control which specific advertisements Google displays, and we are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Our editorial content is completely independent of our advertising relationships — we do not allow advertisers to influence our calculator content or articles.

For full details of how Google uses data in advertising, please see: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. For how Google uses data when you use our site generally, see https://policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity (provided by Microsoft Corporation) to understand how visitors use and interact with our website through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. This helps us improve our calculators and content.

Clarity collects data about your browsing behaviour through first- and third-party cookies and similar tracking technologies. The data collected is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Session recordings mask sensitive form inputs by default and do not capture keystrokes in sensitive fields.

The lawful basis for using Clarity is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — specifically, our interest in understanding user experience to improve the website. You can opt out of Clarity tracking at any time by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or by using browser extensions that block analytics scripts.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide analytical information to website owners.

We use the following categories of cookies:

Strictly Necessary Cookies — These are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They do not store any personally identifiable information.

Preference Cookies — These allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your dark/light mode preference) to provide a more personalised experience.

Analytics Cookies — These help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. These are only set with your consent.

Advertising Cookies — These are set by our advertising partner Google and are used to present relevant advertisements. These are only set with your consent.

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier 2 years
_ga_* Google Analytics Maintains session state and tracks page views within a session 2 years
theme UK Calculator Stores your dark/light mode display preference so it persists between visits 1 year
CONSENT Google Stores your cookie consent choices so you are not asked again on subsequent visits 2 years
IDE Google (DoubleClick) Used by Google to register and report actions after seeing or clicking an advertisement, to measure the effectiveness of ads and to present targeted ads 13 months
NID Google Registers a unique ID that identifies a returning user’s device for personalised advertising purposes 6 months

You can manage or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our website, or by adjusting your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of parts of our website.

For detailed information about how to control cookies in your browser, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.

6. Your Rights under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data. These rights are summarised below:

Right of Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (commonly known as a “Subject Access Request”).

Right to Rectification

You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances (the “right to be forgotten”).

Right to Restriction

You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

Right to Portability

Where processing is based on your consent or a contract, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to Object

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Right to Complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@ukcalculator.com. We will respond to all requests within one calendar month. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

Please note that because we collect very limited personal data (primarily anonymised analytics data), some of these rights may have limited practical application in the context of our website.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives you additional rights regarding your personal information. UK Calculator is based in the United Kingdom and primarily serves UK residents, but we extend the following CCPA/CPRA rights to any California resident who visits our website:

  • Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, where we need to retain information to comply with legal obligations).
  • Right to Correct — You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing — California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, when advertising cookies are enabled (with your consent), the use of identifiers for personalised advertising by Google, Raptive and other ad partners may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out by (a) declining advertising cookies in our consent banner, (b) using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of our ad units, or (c) enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honour as a valid opt-out request.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — We do not collect or use sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. You will receive the same level of service, the same pricing, and the same quality of experience whether or not you exercise your rights.

Categories of personal information collected (last 12 months): identifiers (IP address, device ID, cookie IDs), internet/network activity (pages visited, clicks, session data), geolocation (approximate city-level), and inferences (interests for advertising, with consent).

Categories of third parties we share with: Google LLC (analytics and advertising), Raptive / CMI Marketing Inc. (advertising management), Microsoft Corporation (Clarity analytics), and authorised supply-side partners listed in our ads.txt file.

To exercise your California privacy rights, please email privacy@ukcalculator.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity (we may ask for information to match against the data we hold) and respond within 45 days. You may also designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations.

  • Google Analytics data: We have set the retention period to 14 months, after which data is automatically deleted from Google’s servers.
  • Email correspondence: If you contact us by email, we retain your correspondence for up to 2 years in case of follow-up enquiries, after which it is deleted.
  • Cookie consent records: Your consent preferences are stored in a cookie on your device for up to 2 years.

We do not store any other personal data on our own servers. We do not run a user database, and no personal information entered into our calculators is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.

8. Third Party Links

Our website contains links to external websites, including official government and regulatory sources such as HMRC, GOV.UK, the NHS, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and other reputable organisations. We link to these sources to provide accurate, up-to-date information for our users.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit. Once you leave our website, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.

External links are clearly marked and open in a new browser tab where appropriate. We do not have any control over and are not liable for the content or privacy practices of any third party website.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and equivalent provisions of the UK GDPR. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@ukcalculator.com and we will delete such information promptly.

While some of our calculators (such as BMI calculators for children) are designed to be useful for parents calculating metrics for their children, the service itself is intended to be used by adults or under adult supervision.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or other factors. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of our website after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

If we make any material changes that significantly affect your rights or how we use your data, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by displaying a prominent notice on our website.
