PIP Rates 2025/26

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) has two components: Daily Living and Mobility. Each component has a standard and enhanced rate. For 2025/26: Daily Living Standard £73.90/week, Daily Living Enhanced £110.40/week. Mobility Standard £29.20/week, Mobility Enhanced £77.05/week.

To qualify for the standard rate you need 8+ points in a component; enhanced rate requires 12+ points. Points are awarded across 10 daily living activities and 2 mobility activities based on your ability to perform them safely, repeatedly, to an acceptable standard and in a reasonable time.

What mobility activities are assessed for PIP?

Planning and following journeys, and moving around. Enhanced mobility (12+ points) may entitle you to a Motability vehicle.

How long does PIP last?

Awards are typically made for 1–10 years before review. Severe conditions may receive ongoing awards with light touch reviews.

Can I get PIP if I work?

Yes — PIP is not means-tested and is not affected by income or savings. You can claim PIP while working.

Is PIP taxable?

No — PIP is not subject to income tax and does not affect your tax-free allowance.

How do I claim PIP?

Call the PIP claim line: 0800 917 2222. You will receive a PIP2 form to complete. Most claimants are assessed by phone, video or face-to-face by an independent healthcare professional.

Can I get PIP if I have a mental health condition?

Yes — mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD and schizophrenia can qualify for PIP if they affect your daily living or mobility.

What happens at a PIP review?

DWP will contact you before your award expires. You may be sent a review form (AR1) or invited for a new assessment. Awards can be maintained, increased or decreased.

Can PIP help me get other benefits?

Yes — Enhanced Daily Living PIP triggers Severe Disability Premium in means-tested benefits. Enhanced Mobility PIP may entitle you to a Motability vehicle.
