Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert my hourly wage to an annual salary?
Multiply your hourly rate by your weekly hours, then multiply by 52 weeks. For example, if you earn £15 per hour and work 37.5 hours per week: £15 × 37.5 × 52 = £29,250 per year. This calculator does this conversion automatically and also shows your take-home pay after tax and National Insurance.
What is the UK National Minimum Wage for 2025/26?
The UK National Living Wage (for workers aged 21 and over) is £12.21 per hour from April 2025. For 18-20 year olds it is £10.00, and for under 18s it is £7.55. Apprentices earn at least £7.55 per hour. Enter your hourly rate into the calculator to see your full annual earnings and take-home pay.
Does this wage calculator include tax and National Insurance?
Yes. After converting your wage to an annual figure, the calculator applies 2025/26 UK income tax bands (Personal Allowance £12,570, Basic Rate 20%, Higher Rate 40%, Additional Rate 45%) and employee National Insurance (8% on £12,570-£50,270, 2% above £50,270) to show your net take-home pay across all pay periods.
